It seemed a bit weird for me that everything was recorded initially with such a big stereo width. Usage can be cutoff by disabling unnecessary articulations, so this really isn't a deal breaker. CS2 has 7-8 different patches, which all take between around 400mb to 2000mb, whether it's an ensemble or single instrument. First issue, not surprisingly: Ram usage. I tried to create something similar with CS2, and faced multiple issues. I never would have though that I could get such a big sound out from CCC, even though it required some programming as showed in my video. Unfortunately it's price tag forced me to consider CCC-PS, which was a bargain at ~$90. After playing around for ~2 hours, I'll have to say I'm very disappointed.ĬS2 was one of those libraries I really wanted to get after watching demo videos. I just got Cinematic Strings 2.1 from Best Service, as it happened to be 30% off. This is most likely a bug in library, as it's the only instrument causing this behavior. I'm unaware if this approach could cause performance issues, but at least on my rig 8gb i5-rig there hasn't been a single issue, *EXCEPT* on Cello Staccato, which causes strange hissing and "bojojoing"-sound when playing multiple notes.

and it's a lot more intuitive to press buttons and turn knobs to open different articulations / activate instruments.Ĭurrently I'm using only one patch per Kontakt, as it makes it easier to configure mod wheel links and mixer outputs in FL Patcher. I prefer to whole keybed for playing, as zoning + setting different custom octaves per patch easily causes accidental articulation changes while playing (if split zones aren't set correctly). On my setup I'm not using keyswitchable CCC-PS patches, because it would be harder to link to my master keyboard. Thus strings in my template take only around 300-400mb, while Addiktive Keys take a bit more. Single instrument (with single articulation) takes only ~20-40mb (such as cello and bass here), ensembles takes a bit more (around 150-250 each) due to loading multiple articulations, but legato ensembles take around 20-40 by having a single articulation again.
